PALMYRA (NEWS CENTER Maine) — The scene: pure hogwash. A pig, on the run, on the interstate.
It happened Wednesday in south Palmyra along the northbound lanes of I-95, not far from Fogg Brook.
Maine State Police's Troop E said it was alerted Wednesday to an unruly subject near mile marker 155.
Upon arrival, responding Troopers Cpl. Rick Moody and Jeremy Caron, with help from a local animal control officer, were able to find the ungulate.
Despite being uncooperative, the pig was taken into custody and successfully loaded into a trailer. No word yet on whether it was "grunted" bail.
The pig managed to elude capture for about a week, having been reported several times.
Neither the troopers nor the pig were injured.
