Two seriously injured in two separate motorcycle accidents on Saturday

Maine State Police spokesperson, Steve McCausland says two people were injured in two separate crashes. One on Saturday morning and one on Saturday night.

PORTLAND, Maine — 37-year-old Michael Gemmell is hospitalized after a motorcycle accident in Hollis around 7:30 Saturday night.

State Police say Gemmell was speeding when he lost control on the Bonny Eagle Road. Gemmell suffered multiple injuries when he was thrown from the motorcycle and was taken to Maine Medical Center.

42-year-old Diane Sprague is also being treated for serious injuries. The motorcycle she was a passenger on overturned on the Maine Turnpike in Portland. 

State Police say accident happen Saturday morning when the motorcycle hit with debris from a car that struck a concrete barrier in front of the motorcycle.

Maine State Police Trooper Mike Cook said 22-year-old Norman Watson of Windham was driving the car when he fell asleep and hit the concrete barrier.

The motorcycle operator, 46-year-old Ronald Boucher of Saco had minor injuries.
