Five ways you can honor a veteran this month

Wreaths Across America is teaming up with five other non-profit organizations through the month of July to honor our nation's veterans.

(NEWS CENTER Maine) -- Wreaths Across America is teaming up with five other non-profit organizations through the month of July to honor our nation's veterans.

Its part of their 'Giving in July' program initiative.

The Maine based non-profit, Wreaths Across America lays wreaths on every grave in Arlington National Cemetery every December. Over the years they have partnered with other non-profits to further their mission to "Remember, Honor, Teach".

"By sponsoring a wreath(s) through the designated pages for each partnering group you will not only sponsor a veterans’ wreath to be placed in honor of an American hero in December, but $5 of each $15 contribution goes directly to the featured organization to help support their mission." A release from the organization said.

The organizations you can choose from are the Gary Sinise Foundation, America's Mighty Warriors, the Travis Manion Foundation, the Maine Troop Greeters and Museum, or Honor and Remember (America's Run for the Fallen's parent organization).

In addition to the program, the organization is hosting its Stem to Stone Concert & Veterans Remembrance Tree Tagging Event to honor and remember our nation's fallen soldiers and veterans.

Country music artist Craig Morgan is the featured act.

The gates to the Balsam Valley concert grounds in Columbia Falls will open at 4:30 PM.

The concert is free for all veterans and active duty service members.
